National Truth and Reconciliation Day
On Friday, September 29th, our school will recognize National Truth and Reconciliation Day by honoring Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt day actually falls on September 30th, this time of year was when children were taken from their homes and placed in residential schools. This day is a day to have conversations with our families and children on all aspects of residential schools and the effects it has had on those directly affected by them. Let this day be the day that creates opportunities to begin reconciliation with others. Encourage your child to wear orange on Friday.
