Spring is Here !
Principal’s Message
April will be a busy month for us at Uncas! We are back from our Spring Break refreshed and ready for the third and final term of the school year.
We closed the chapter on our second term with report cards followed by Parent/Student/Teacher interviews in March. Thank you to all of our parents and students for their positive contributions at our meetings. We truly appreciate the opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievement with you and collaborate for continued success to the end of the year.
April will be ‘Peristence’ month at Uncas. Our storyteller Mrs. Englot introduced the trait to our students at our April 3 assembly, and we will be talking about and practicing Persistence in the weeks to come.
Our Information Night for parents of next year’s Kindergarten class will be held on Thursday, April 11. Mrs. Cordoviz will be presenting information on all things kindergarten from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The Before and After School, and Play School program operators will also be on hand from 6:00 to 8:00 pm to answer any questions about their services available to families and children.
The Parent Council has arranged for our students to participate in a fine arts program on Thursday, April 18. All students will have the opportunity to practice drumming led by the Azure Drum instructors. This hands on musical experience comes highly recommended and we are looking forward to the day that we can make some noise!
We have a Spring Dance planned for Friday, April 19 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. It has a Western theme so dress up and join the fun, pard’ner!
Have a great April, and here’s hoping that lots of spring weather will be upon us sooner than later!
